Qubic Says Attackers Moved About 2.94 Trillion QU From 1,404 Wallets

Qubic disclosed that attackers accessed 1,404 wallets and moved about 2.94 trillion QU during a 104-minute incident, tracing the breach to weak wallet-seed generation. The activity ran from 7:42 p.m. to 9:26 p.m. ET on Oct. 17 (23:42 UTC on Oct. 17 to 01:26 UTC on Oct. 18). Qubic said attackers exploited insufficient randomness in some wallet seeds. The flaw let attackers reach assets in the affected wallets and transfer them during the incident window. Qubic placed the fault in seed generation rather than in the Qubic protocol.
