Polymarket weighs an equity path against a token launch

The prediction market is considering whether a traditional equity route, possibly an IPO, or a native token better fits its next chapter Polymarket is considering whether its future runs through a traditional equity path or a token launch, according to Bloomberg. The prediction market has to decide which kind of asset it wants its supporters, and its backers, to eventually hold. On the equity side, the options reportedly include a potential initial public offering. On the crypto side, the option is a native token. As of mid-October 2026, Polymarket has done neither.
