The cryptocurrency industry’s leading political action committee, Fairshake, suffered its biggest electoral defeat after spending $56 million to defeat Democratic Senator, Sherrod Brown, in Ohio who won re-election by nearly 5%. POLITICS | Bitcoin Rebounds as Democrats Take Control of Senate and Congress Fairshake and its affiliates spent about $154 million backing candidates in the 2026 congressional elections but more than a third of its spending went toward the unsuccessful effort to block Brown’s return to the Senate.
