The Gambling Wire: Arkansas Sues Kalshi and VGW Over Alleged Illegal Gambling

Arkansas becomes the latest state to enter the legal battle between states and prediction markets, while Kalshi suffers another appellate setback and Flutter cuts its full-year outlook. Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin has targeted online gambling alternatives, suing prediction market operator Kalshi and sweepstakes casino giant VGW for allegedly operating illegal gambling businesses in the state. The Kalshi lawsuit comes more than a year after Griffin issued a legal opinion concluding that prediction markets such as Kalshi constitute gambling or gaming and require a state license.
