Patrick Witt stepped down as executive director of the White House Crypto Council on October 14, leaving the administration’s digital asset advisory team without staff. His temporary assignment from the Department of Defence officially ended, and the White House has not announced a replacement to coordinate crypto policy ahead of the November midterm elections. Witt is the third senior crypto official to leave this year. Crypto Czar David Sacks departed in March, followed by Deputy Director Harry Jung in July. Serving in this administration has been the privilege of a lifetime.
