OpenAI Says India Is ChatGPT’s Largest Market as Users Double

India is ChatGPT’s largest market by weekly active users, and its local user base has doubled since January, OpenAI India Managing Director Prabhjeet Singh said. That places the country first on the weekly usage measure for the service. Singh said companies are moving from pilot projects and demonstrations to large-scale production deployments. The change takes business customers beyond early trials and into broader deployment of OpenAI’s services. Singh said OpenAI is working with government agencies and companies to protect critical infrastructure amid concerns about potential misuse of autonomous AI agents.
