OpenAI Adds GIF Creation to ChatGPT in Images 2.6 Update

OpenAI announced Images 2.6 on Nov. 4, adding GIF creation to ChatGPT and extending its image tools to Codex and the developer API. The update brings animated images into the company’s image-generation lineup. The announced global rollout covers ChatGPT and Codex subscription tiers on web, desktop and mobile. GIF generation is also available through the API, and the release includes additional safeguards for making GIFs. Developers can choose GPT-Image-2.6 Flare, designed for speed, or GPT-Image-2.6 Sunburst, aimed at higher-quality output with medium or high settings. Image generation is 50% faster than before.
