OpenAI’s Rosalind Academic Plan gives eligible U.S. university labs a no-cost seat package, while separate screening governs access to GPT-Rosalind and monitoring of sensitive research. A principal investigator or lab lead may apply for a lab. OpenAI reviews the lab’s affiliation, research activities and intended use, along with the applicant’s identity, professional background and authority to oversee access. After activation, it monitors use and applies additional checks to registered high-sensitivity research. GPT-Rosalind is designed for life sciences research. Its Rosalind Workbench connects tools for medicinal chemistry, genomics and wet-lab workflows.
