NVIDIA has unveiled DOCA GPUNetIO, a software development kit (SDK) designed to unify GPU-initiated networking operations across its ecosystem. According to NVIDIA's October 6, 2026, technical blog, this development enables GPUs to directly manage network and data movement tasks, reducing CPU involvement and improving real-time response capabilities for distributed applications. DOCA GPUNetIO integrates advanced technologies such as GPUDirect RDMA and GPUDirect Async Kernel-Initiated (GDA-KI) networking. It allows CUDA kernels to perform Ethernet, RDMA, Verbs, and DMA operations without relying on the CPU for every network transaction — a bottleneck in traditional setups.
