Network School will take over Farcaster, bringing the social network’s app, protocol code and related products under a new operator as the platform moves toward a rules-based model. On Oct. 15, Neynar co-founder Rish announced the transition. Most of Neynar’s employees are expected to join Network School and continue development, while Rish and fellow co-founder Manan will leave. Under the proposed framework, users would choose whether to accept a social contract. Those who accept would receive an onchain NFT credential; those who decline would retain read-only access. Their keys, funds, follow lists and posts would remain portable to other clients.
