Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk estimated that advanced artificial intelligence could add about $30 trillion a year to global output, an expansion he sees as a possible way to address U.S. debt. In an interview recorded Aug. 6 and released Oct. 20, Musk put the potential increase from digital superintelligence at 20% to 30% of global goods and services. He described the range as a rough guess. A roughly 30% increase, he said, would amount to about $30 trillion in additional output each year.
