Midnight Details Nightmode Design for Private Cross-Chain DeFi

Midnight has introduced Nightmode, a vault design that would let users direct decentralized finance activity on public blockchains while keeping their individual balances private, separating visible transactions from account histories. Under the design, a user deposits an asset into a vault on its original blockchain. Midnight records a matching claim in a shielded pool, which the user can use to direct activity through connected applications. Withdrawing the original asset requires giving up that private claim. The asset remains on its original network while the corresponding balance is managed on Midnight. The public transaction does not disappear.
