Ledger Testing Implants for Bitcoin ETFs, Claims Safer Custody Than Wallets

A newly disclosed Ledger wallet compromise has reignited a familiar security debate in Bitcoin : whether hardware wallets remain the safest route for holding coins, or whether investors should instead lean on the custody model offered by spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The discussion has spread across prominent industry voices following reports that certain Ledger devices may have been tampered with via an unauthorized hardware implant. Bitcoin analyst Plan B, who previously argued for moving his holdings into ETFs, said he has “zero regrets” about that decision.
