The company had sent emails to users asking them to explain their use of the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Those messages prompted criticism from the community and from the co-CEO's own account. According to reports, the co-CEO described the emails as wrong and called the practice unacceptable. Kraken has since stopped sending them.
