Korean won closes at 1,344.6 per dollar, down 6.3 won

The won closed at 1,344.6 per dollar, weakening 6.3 won from the previous session. The rate remained near this year’s low of 1,335.1 and was 13.6% below the annual high of 1,555.8. In Seoul’s foreign exchange market on Oct. 15, USD/KRW closed at 1,344.6, compared with 1,338.3 in the previous session. The pair opened at 1,342.0, or 3.7 won above the prior close. The rate was near the bottom of this year’s range between 1,335.1 and 1,555.8, standing about 4% above the annual low. It was 135.5 won below the 1,480.1 recorded on July 22.
