Kalshi co-founder and chief operating officer Luana Lopes Lara said the company's stock perpetual futures topped $300 million in trading volume within hours of launching Thursday, Nov. 5. The contracts let traders take positions on stock-price moves without owning shares, and they have no expiration date. Kalshi offers contracts tied to more than 50 stocks traded on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, including Palantir, Meta and McDonald's. The launch came two days after Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Michael Selig said Tuesday, Nov. 3, that single-equity perpetual futures could trade on CFTC-registered exchanges.
