Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said a proposal discussed with Qatar could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days if Washington accepts Tehran’s terms, putting access through the oil route at the center of negotiations. Araghchi said the conditions include lifting sanctions imposed after the Islamabad memorandum, reducing U.S. military deployments in the region, restoring oil exemptions and releasing frozen Iranian funds, including money held in Qatar. The proposal also addresses routes Iran has discussed with Oman. Nuclear terms raised by mediators would be reviewed in a second phase.
