Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Nov. 1 that Iran had accepted a two-day proposal that puts U.S. steps before the Strait of Hormuz's reopening and creates a path to renewed talks with Washington. The outline assigns the first day to a set of U.S. measures. The strait would open on the second day, with shipping returning to its prior pattern. The path to restarting talks would open after the United States met its commitments and the waterway was open. Araghchi said the framework largely follows Iran's earlier seven-day plan .
