Intel Targets First Ohio Fab Operations for 2030 or 2031

Intel installed its first major structural truss at its New Albany, Ohio, chip plant Wednesday, advancing a project whose first fab is targeted to begin operations in 2030 or 2031. The schedule marks a shift from the original plan. When Intel announced the Ohio project in 2022, it expected the factory to start delivering chips in 2025. The company now plans to complete construction of the first fab in 2030, with a second fab at the site planned for completion in 2031. New Albany is northeast of Columbus.
