HSBC plans to establish its AI & Emerging Technology Institute in Hong Kong, bringing AI research, blockchain work and post-quantum cryptography under one center to develop technologies for use across the bank. The institute’s initial agenda covers AI applications, including training and safety, as well as fraud detection, blockchain technology, post-quantum cryptography and engineering optimization. Its mandate is to bring researchers and technology teams together to develop technologies for practical, scalable use across HSBC.
