HKMA Expands EnsembleTX for 24/7 Settlement of Tokenized Deposits

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority expanded EnsembleTX for round-the-clock interbank settlement of tokenized deposits, a change that came as Standard Chartered opened a related service to corporate clients in Hong Kong. The platform supports settlement using tokenized central bank money, including wholesale central bank digital currency (wCBDC). It now has 12 participating banks and 20 “other industry pioneers.” Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited is among the participating banks. Standard Chartered’s service runs on the bank’s blockchain infrastructure and connects to EnsembleTX.
