Harbinger raised $240 million in a Series D round as the Los Angeles electric truck maker expands into battery storage and defense applications, including a driverless platform for military use. Tiger Global, Capricorn’s technology impact fund and defense-focused investor Ridgeline co-led the financing. FedEx invested again, alongside returning investors Maniv, Greycroft and Leitmotif. Fidelity Management also participated. Harbinger’s previous financing was a $160 million Series C announced almost a year earlier. That round included an initial FedEx truck order. FedEx recently placed its first large order with Harbinger, for 2,000 trucks in a deal valued at more than $300 million.
