A reported 40-fold cut in quantum computing errors has reignited debate over Bitcoin's long-term security and upgrade costs. Google has made progress on a core technical barrier in quantum computing, according to reports from BeInCrypto, Cointribune EN, Crypto News Flash, and crypto.news. The company is said to have cut quantum computing error rates by a factor of 40. That reduction addresses one of the field's most persistent obstacles: the instability of individual qubits, the basic unit of quantum information. Qubits are notoriously fragile. Small disturbances from heat, electromagnetic noise, or imperfect hardware can corrupt calculations before they finish.
