Global AI Adoption Statistics 2026: Country Rankings and Trends

Artificial intelligence is spreading across the world, but not at the same speed everywhere. The countries that build the most advanced AI models are not always the countries where the most people use AI. Microsoft estimates that 18.8% of the world’s working-age population used generative AI by June 2026. In the United Arab Emirates, the figure is 73.3%. In the United States, it is closer to one-third. Workplace data tells a different story again. Surveys cited by Stanford show that more than 80% of employees use AI at work in countries such as India, China and Nigeria.
