German brokers Trade Republic, Scalable Capital and SMARTBROKER+ have announced lower-cost offers for state-subsidized retirement accounts launching in 2027, giving savers fee terms to compare before the accounts become available. Trade Republic plans to charge no account fee or fee for scheduled purchases. It also plans to cover ongoing product costs on several dozen selected exchange-traded funds (ETFs). That product-cost offer applies to the selected funds. Scalable Capital will pay the ETF costs for its standard-account customers until at least Dec. 31, 2027. In a separate account for self-directed investors, it plans to rebate costs on selected ETFs.
