GenLayer Labs warns AI agent payments on x402 have no way to dispute a charge

Albert Castellana argues the fast-growing standard for agent payments needs an adjudication layer before it can handle bigger transactions AI agents can now pay for things on the internet in seconds, with no human clicking “confirm.” There is one catch: if the agent pays for the wrong thing, nobody can get the money back. That is the warning from Albert Castellana, co-founder of GenLayer Labs. He argues that x402, the payment standard AI agents use to buy services online, was built for speed and has no way to contest a charge.
