Flox Intelligence Deploys Edge AI to Keep Wildlife Away From Infrastructure

Flox Intelligence is rolling out battery-powered AI equipment that identifies nearby animals and emits customized sounds intended to steer them clear of transportation networks and other critical sites. As of Sept. 22, Flox’s system had logged more than 60,000 wildlife events across 27 species and was being used by more than 60 operators. Flox Edge combines motion detection, an onboard camera and artificial intelligence classification, then responds in less than two seconds with species-specific deterrence. Each device handles about 1,800 events per battery charge.
