Finnish Police Open Criminal Probe Into Tuike’s Muhos Data Center Work

In Muhos, police are investigating suspected environmental damage linked to drainage and water management during preparations for a data center planned by Tuike Finland Oy. The police inquiry covers Muhos, one location in Google’s wider Finnish infrastructure program. LVV requested an investigation, and Oulu police opened the preliminary case during the week of Oct. 26. Police will handle five investigation requests concerning the Muhos site together. They expect to provide an update in December 2026 and aim to complete the investigation in 2027. The inquiry is preliminary, and no finding of wrongdoing has been announced.
