FINMA has approved the first Swiss Bitcoin ETF open to retail investors. The fund received an exemption from standard diversification rules. The issuer, ticker, fees and launch date have not been disclosed. Other providers have already applied or announced plans to apply. Switzerland’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) approved the first Swiss Bitcoin ETF for retail investors on October 20, 2026, clearing a product that holds Bitcoin directly inside a Swiss investment fund instead of through the debt-style notes that have dominated the local market for years.
