Filecoin Tokenomics Shift Set to Cut Daily FIL Supply Growth by About 75%

Filecoin plans to update its tokenomics this month, with the end of vesting tied to its Genesis allocation expected to reduce daily growth in circulating FIL supply by about 75%. The revised system will direct more block rewards to services that attract paying customers. The changes pair slower daily supply growth with incentives tied to commercial demand. Services that bring in paying customers will receive a larger share of block rewards under the new model, making customer acquisition a factor in how the network distributes rewards. Filecoin is a decentralized storage network where users rent out unused hard-drive space.
