The Federal Reserve is set to keep interest rates unchanged at its October 27–28 policy meeting, according to a vast majority of economists polled by Reuters. This pause comes as inflation readings remain elevated, putting pressure on the central bank’s strategy, and shaping expectations for the remainder of the year. In a Reuters survey conducted between October 16 and 20, 94 out of 100 economists predicted that the Federal Reserve will maintain its benchmark rate at 3.75% to 4.00% during this month’s meeting.
