Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade could ease DeFi congestion, Curve says

Curve Finance has said Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade could give complex DeFi transactions more reliable access to blockspace, citing mainnet checks in which a leveraged borrow used about 1.84 million gas against 125,000 for a direct stablecoin swap. Curve’s mainnet checks put leveraged borrowing gas usage at nearly 15 times a direct stablecoin swap. The team expects added capacity to help borrowers, arbitrage traders and liquidators during heavy demand. Ethereum developers have prepared a 200 million gas test, without committing mainnet to that limit. Curve cautions that revised state charges could increase gas requirements for some transactions.
