Early Ether Holder Moves $6.94 Million in ETH to Exchanges

An early Ether (ETH) holder transferred 3,000 ETH, valued at $6.94 million, to exchanges in nearly 24 hours leading up to 9:35 p.m. ET Monday (01:35 UTC Tuesday). The transfers do not establish that the ETH was sold. The holder acquired 100,000 ETH during Ethereum’s 2015 initial coin offering at 31 cents per coin. About 47,000 ETH, valued at $109 million, remain on-chain. The holder also moved more than $100 million in stablecoins to exchanges, market makers and over-the-counter firms.
