US stock futures surged on Wednesday, recovering from steep overnight losses, as a clear result in the midterm elections eased political uncertainty. Dow futures rose 724 points, or 1.4%, while S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 futures each gained about 1%. Democrats won control of both the House and Senate and took key governor races, including Texas. Fears of a disputed outcome faded after President Trump said he would accept the results. Health insurers rallied, led by Molina Healthcare up 6.3% and Centene up 4.7%, and solar stocks climbed. AMD jumped 6% after strong earnings.
