Dogecoin (DOGE) traded near $0.0824 after sliding from $0.088 on Oct. 12 to $0.080 the next day, while positive futures funding left long-position holders paying traders on the short side. The funding rate was 0.0088%. A positive rate means traders holding long positions pay those holding short positions; it describes the direction of payments, but does not explain DOGE’s price movement. DOGE futures open interest stood at about $652 million on Oct. 12. By the following day, it had dropped to $598 million, then edged back up to $609 million.
