The project was delayed, and no new release date has been announced. Disney invested $1 billion in Epic in April 2024 and committed to acquire an additional 2% stake for $500 million in July 2024. Those transactions brought Disney’s total interest in Epic to approximately 8%. Epic Games and Disney announced their multiyear collaboration on Feb. 7, 2024.
