DeepSeek’s web chat, app and API services were back online after an outage lasting about five hours that stalled prompts, triggered server errors and interrupted some conversations. The disruption began at 8:11 p.m. ET on Oct. 14 (00:11 UTC on Oct. 15), affecting the Chat service, V4 Pro API and V4.1 Flash API. Users encountered messages that servers were busy or temporarily unavailable, while some conversations stopped mid-response. At 9:08 p.m. ET on Oct. 14 (01:08 UTC on Oct. 15), an incident update said the cause had been identified and repairs were underway.
