Deepgram to Acquire Daily as Pipecat Remains Open Source

Deepgram said Thursday, Oct. 29, that it plans to acquire Daily, bringing the maker and maintainer of Pipecat into the company’s voice AI infrastructure operations. The companies did not disclose a purchase price and said Pipecat will remain open source. Pipecat manages voice and video streams alongside pipeline components such as speech-to-text, large language models and text-to-speech. The framework is designed to help reduce delays in real-time AI systems. Daily also provides hosted infrastructure for voice and video calls.
