Crypto-friendly candidates won 228 House seats and 19 Senate seats in the U.S. midterms, even as Democrats swept Congress. As of the first quarter of 2026, the crypto industry had put about $189 million into political action committees during the midterm cycle, compared with $119 million during the 2024 election cycle. Fairshake, the crypto industry’s largest super PAC, will continue backing pro-crypto candidates in 2028. Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen gave $4 million to the campaign of former Sen. Sherrod Brown, who has repeatedly criticized the crypto industry. Ripple remains one of Fairshake’s major donors.
