Coinbase Delists USDT for EEA Users: The October 30 Stablecoin Deadline Explained

Coinbase is removing USDT and 13 other stablecoins for retail customers across the European Economic Area, and the deadline to withdraw them is October 30, 2026. After that date, any affected balance left in an EEA account will be automatically converted into USDC at the market rate, according to Coinbase’s MiCA non-compliant stablecoins notice . For a retail user in Frankfurt or Madrid who has been holding Tether’s USDT as a parking spot for cash, the change is abrupt. Buying, selling, and swapping the token was already switched off, and withdrawal is now the only door left open.
