Elon Musk’s initial reaction to the massive $6.3 billion Binance hack that took place on Thursday, October 29, was a stark warning about the need for constant vigilance when it comes to cybersecurity. Specifically, the CEO of Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA ) and SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX ) published an X post simply stating that ‘Everyday is Zeroday.’ In cybersecurity, a zero-day refers to a previously unknown firmware, hardware, or software vulnerability that can be used by attackers. It is known as such since developers have zero days to address the issue before it gets exploited.
