Coinbase and Thunes Target the Missing Link in Global Payments

Coinbase will integrate Thunes’ payout network for bank and mobile-wallet transfers. Thunes will use Coinbase’s stablecoin infrastructure for cross-border payments. The network spans more than 140 countries, but partnership-specific coverage is unconfirmed. Neither company disclosed fees, transaction volumes or a launch timetable. Coinbase is moving deeper into cross-border payments through a partnership with Thunes, gaining access to local banking and mobile-wallet networks in more than 140 countries while supplying stablecoin infrastructure to the Singapore-based payments company. The October 19 agreement , announced at Money20/20 USA, targets supplier payments, gig-worker earnings and international remittances.
