Coinbase and Thunes plan to connect Coinbase’s stablecoin services with Thunes’ payout network, aiming to make bank accounts and mobile wallets available as destinations for cross-border payments. Coinbase would provide the stablecoin technology, while Thunes would supply local payout connections. The partnership focuses on reaching the account or wallet a recipient uses, a separate step from accepting a stablecoin payment. The companies have not specified a launch date or identified the markets the planned connection will cover. Coinbase also has a separate partnership with Citigroup for business payment acceptance .
