China’s power-chip expansion is drawing attention as a potential source of long-term competition for Texas Instruments, though the projects span different stages and include more than complete new wafer fabs. A list covers about 58 suppliers and 69 projects: 15 planned, 29 under construction and 25 ramping up capacity. Elon Musk reshared the list. Its projects cover silicon MOSFETs, IGBTs, power-management chips, and silicon carbide and gallium nitride devices. Some entries describe upgrades or specialized production lines. A Huahong project, for example, is described as a BCD analog and power-management process upgrade within a mixed project.
