Binance founder Changpeng Zhao warned Monday, Nov. 2, that scammers are targeting users affected by the exchange’s Thursday, Oct. 29, hot-wallet breach, as Binance began restoring withdrawals in phases. Scam pitches may be framed as refunds, services to recover stolen funds or requests to verify accounts. Unsolicited offers to retrieve stolen assets warrant suspicion. The breach affected Binance hot wallets across 10 blockchains. The exchange suspended withdrawals during its response and later began restoring them in phases. Binance had previously urged users to rely on official channels and be wary of suspicious links, messages and requests for account information.
