Bose has added Skullcandy to its Premium Consumer Audio business, aiming to reach consumers in communities where it has less presence. The acquisition was announced Oct. 21 at 4:30 p.m. ET (20:30 UTC). Skullcandy will retain its separate identity and continue to be based in Park City, Utah, where it was founded in 2003. Bose acquired the audio brand from a fund managed by Mill Road Capital Management LLC. The companies did not disclose financial terms. The deal builds on several years of work between the companies. Skullcandy headphones and earbuds already use Sound by Bose technology.
