Block's agreement in principle with the U.S. Department of Justice on a three-year deferred prosecution agreement carries an expected $764 million net payment and still needs court approval. The proposal would defer a Justice Department charge alleging Block failed to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program in violation of the Bank Secrecy Act. The proposed resolution has a gross monetary component of about $964 million and an expected net payment of about $764 million after credits for prior regulatory resolutions. Block had accrued $764 million for the DOJ matter as of Sept. 30, 2026.
