Nebraska online sports betting measures trail in unofficial results

Nebraska’s proposed expansion into online sports betting was heading towards defeat on Wednesday morning, with both measures required to authorise mobile wagering trailing in unofficial election returns. Initiative 440 would amend the state constitution to permit online sports wagering, while Initiative 441 would establish the accompanying regulatory framework. Both measures must pass for the proposed market to proceed. With 885 of 1,322 precincts fully reporting shortly before 2am Central Time, Initiative 440 had attracted 295,963 votes in favour and 353,961 against. Initiative 441 stood at 298,662 votes in favour and 351,173 against.
