Bitcoin trades below $80,000 as Nasdaq and gold hit yearly lows

Renewed concerns about artificial intelligence sharply impacted risk assets, driving a pronounced market sell-off. Bitcoin hovered near the $77,000 level as US markets opened with significant losses. The tech-focused Nasdaq Composite Index dropped to approximately 25,500, its lowest point since early August. Gold also declined, falling to $3,891 per ounce—marking its weakest price since October 2025. TradingView data indicated that BTC/USD was down 1.1% for the day after reaching its lowest value since September 18.
