Bitcoin’s move below $80,000 coincided with $1.34 billion in liquidations of bullish positions. The price break and liquidation total put the focus on traders positioned for gains as Bitcoin moved beneath the threshold. Ether (ETH) funding turned negative on OKX, while Bitcoin funding remained positive. That split shows funding did not move in the same direction for both assets during the long-side unwind. Bitcoin held a positive funding reading even as its price fell below $80,000, while Ether’s rate was negative.
